Rumor Mill: Super Mario RPG 2: 3DS?

Unsubstantiated rumor time!

It seems that some nefarious nark over at GoNintendo decided to let slip Square Enix’s licensing of long-dormant characters to Nintendo for an undisclosed game. Of course, there’s absolutely no proof of this being true, but we’re reporting on it because of pent-up excitement. For what? For what we believe in with all of our hearts:

Like we said, there’s no proof, and if it was true, it could be for countless other long-forgotten characters in SE’s arsenal of games. But, really: what could be sweeter than this?* I haven’t been this aroused for a Nintendo game since the announcement of Luigi’s Mansion 2.

I’ve… I’ve got to go clean myself up.
