Even though it costs more than the majority of Xbox Live games and is arguably far superior on its original platform, Minecraft on the 360 has proven to be a huge success. Within one hour of launching, the twenty-dollar release was profitable to Notch. That’ll buy a lot of powdered doughnuts and anchovies, won’t it?
The leaderboards for the game show more than 400,000 copies were sold, though that’s for an entire day. According to Microsoft, that’s more than any other title in history. That’s… kind of impressive, actually. Good work, Mojang! I’m glad you can sell your company’s respect by releasing an inferior product on a console with exclusive content that your original buyers on PC, even though they were told they’d receive all future upgrades to the title and added content for free, are neglected from.
Yep, must have been a deal with Microsoft, all right!

LikeA deal with Microsoft is worse than a deal with the devil.
At least the devil only takes your soul. Microsoft takes your soul, your dignity, your fanbase, your money and your firstborn child.
