According to a rumor surfaced on NintendoConnect the Wii could drop from its current price point of $149.99 to $99.99 around the same time when the Wii U launches, supposedly Q3 2012. The Wii is currently the cheapest console in this generation at $149 and Nintendo can continue to make cuts like this due to its manufacturing cost, which sits at around $80 dollars for every Wii. It would make sense for Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii due to declining sales and the upcoming release of the Wii U. If the rumor is true, I would expect an announcement to be made during Nintendo’s E3 conference.

This along with their Nintendo Selects line would make a great deal for late adopters. Wii has a better catalog than a lot of people give it credit for. Wii (will rock) U

LikeGamePlox Yeah, I figure people who waited that long probably wont be early adopters for Wii U though. In the long run, it makes more sense to go with Wii U.

LikeDcalebX True enough. I'm thinking from the perspective of people like us, not the general population.

LikeDcalebX While i tend to give the wii a lot more shit than it deserves, i do agree that it has some really good games.
