Update: Dead Island GOTY Edition Confirmed, Out This Summer

(Updated the original Rumor Mill Post) Dead Island, a game that has no business calling itself “Game of the Year,” is apparently getting a GOTY edition. Deep Silver confirmed the game’s existence today, which includes all previously released DLC. Yes, all five minutes’ worth of extra entertainment! They even go as far as to claim the weapon mod dlc as an entire DLC pack, even though it’s one gun.

We’ve nothing against Dead Island. In fact, I’d go as far as to say it was one of my most enjoyed titles of last year. It had a great combination of fear, action, and survival– yet it was far from perfect, or a game of the year nomination. I’m hoping a sequel sees the light of day, and improves upon the numerous shortcomings. Here’s to it, Deep Silver.
