Most people know of the 360 port of The Witcher 2, but you might have forgotten that the original game was also slated to hit consoles, years ago. Entitled Rise of the White Wolf, the game was to feature completely reworked controls, since CD Projekt aren’t one to port a game and let it be completely broken control-wise, let alone graphically.
The game was cancelled, however, in 2009, with no specific reason given. However, it might be making a return: it was recently seen in Danish retail listings, such as Blockbuster and Coolshop, featuring both PS3 and 360 versions. Considering CD Projekt’s upcoming RED Summer conference, like, tomorrow, we might see something come of this. Or, Blockbuster is just really slow and doesn’t bother to fact check. Both are equally plausible, I’d say.
