Not many people can deny that the Earth Defense Force games are perfectly suited for portable play: the fun, pick-up-and-go gameplay is awesome in short bursts, and it would be a great time killer on the bus or in the bathroom. Good news, then! D3 has announced that the series will be invading the Vita.
Titled Earth Defense Forces 3: Portable (don’t ask me why it’s pluralized), it sounds like a continuation or port of the 360-exclusive EDF: 2017, judging from the date shown in the trailer and the original title of the game being EDF3. Right now, it’s only been confirmed for a 2012 release in Japan, but we wouldn’t count out a western port.
That’s really all we know. The game looks snazzy on the Vita, though, and if you’re a huge fan of the series, you’re lucky that the Vita’s region-free. Are you excited?
