Journey Collector’s Edition Detailed

We wrote about thatgamecompany’s upcoming compilation of sorts, the oddly titled Journey Collector’s Edition,  a couple days ago with little actual details. Today, though, the company revealed the contents of their first-ever retail release, and it looks good.

First off, the mentally and physically arousing compilation contains all three of thatgamecompany’s PSN games: FlowFlower, and Journey. To add to that, it comes with a month trial of Playstation Plus, “exclusive mini games,” commentary for each game by the creators, soundtracks for each game, and my personal favorite entry that’ll make me buy it day one: exclusive minigames never-before-played by the developer, including “Gravediggers,” “Nostril Shot” and “Duke War!!.” These were all created by thatgamecompany in less than 24 hours, and are also probably better than most full-price PSN games. Probably.

You can look forward to the Blu-Ray release on August 24th. If you’re a bit dismayed by the plain ol’ boxart, don’t worry– it’s reversible, much like many PS3 titles from the past few years. Of course, we’re not sure why it’s called the “Journey Collector’s Edition,” but we suppose that sounds better than “thatgamecompany Compilation” or “Flow, Flower, & Journey: The PSN Experience.”

If you want some more info, just check thatgamecompany’s site here. Who’s picking this up?
