Remember when Blizzard released patch 1.03 for Diablo III, and it included something they called a “feature” that stopped paying customers from playing past a certain point or level for up to three days? Though the company said it was because they were ensuring that “payments were verified,” it seems they’ve changed their mind about the whole situation. Good on them!
Patch 1.0.3a is still aiming to “deter credit card fraud,” albeit without all the annoying hindrances. There are still quite a lot of restrictions, but hey, at least you can play the game you paid for. All the other limitations are listed below, for your reading enjoyment:
- No public game access for unverified digital purchasers
- No auction house access (real-money or gold) for unverified digital purchasers
- Unverified digital purchasers cannot trade items or drop items for other players to receive
- Unverified digital purchasers are not able to chat in any public or game channels
- Unverified digital purchasers cannot attach a custom message to friend requests, but they can send/accept friend requests, and play with their friends
- Global Play is not available for unverified digital purchasers
