Unlike most NintendoWare updates, this one is rather notable. And no, it’s not just because Renegade Kid’s Bomb Monkey is up for sale, Marvel Pinball 3D is out, and that Rhythm Thief game finally has a demo in North America, indicating an upcoming release. It’s not notable due to the lack of any Wii release, at all.
No, this update is of note because it proves that Nintendo is keeping their promise of discounting a game weekly, and for the second week in a row, it’s not a piece of shit. This weekend, you can grab VVVVVV for half off at $4.99. It’s only “Valid from 12PM EST Friday through 12AM EST Monday,” but I’ll take any sort of discount on a Nintendo platform.
It might be a bit early to get giddy, but if Nintendo keeps straight on this path, branches it to the Wii & Wii U, and expands the offerings, I see great things ahead for Nintendo fans.
