Even though they were revealed on accident, some savvy internet sleuth control-print-screened his way to internet fame, giving us all a look at what we have to look forward to. The answer? “Meh.”
Sure, there’s a cool-looking Mario playing card set, and a collection of three posters; I’ve got some posters from Club Nintendo, and they’re of great quality, and a set of cards from them isn’t too shabby, either. The typical waste of points calendar is available, or you can also choose from any of those digital games above. I don’t know why you would, since you can buy those online and they don’t go for hundreds of dollars like other Club Nintendo prizes.
But why is it just “meh?” Because it’s just a bunch of cheap paper/digital stuff, in the end. Why, Japan gets cool, physical, non-paper stuff every year, like Mario hats and NES controllers and statues. This year, platinum members got their own real-life miniature Yoshi.* Step it up, Nintendo of America.
