Gearbox Wants Borderlands 2 on the Vita

Does the idea of playing Borderlands 2 on the go arouse you? Would your pants-tent explode if you could take your character and data from the PS3 and continue to play away from home? Randy Pitchford of Gearbox feels the same way, and said today in a conference that he’d love to see the game on the Vita. He just doesn’t want Gearbox to make it, that’s all!

All right, so that sounds pretty stupid, but he actually said it. To clarify, he asked fans to “convince Sony to start that,” because Gearbox is ”too busy to develop it ourselves. But I know there are a lot of talented developers who could take our code, our source and our content and perhaps create something like that.”

The thing is, do they even need Sony to do this? Why not give the code to another contracted developer and see how it goes? We used to hear all the time how it would only take a few weeks to port a full PS3 title over to the Vita. If they start the process now instead of asking Slowny Sony, we’d be good to go come launch!
