EA, either forced into the revelation or just having really, really bad luck, officially announced Battlefield 4 this morning. We know that DICE will be developing it, as anyone else would probably mess it up, but there’s absolutely no info for the game besides that. For one, the beta for the game won’t even launch until fall of 2013, so don’t get all pissy, soldier.
DICE has further gone on record and said that “there is no further Battlefield 4 news at this point,” and reminded us that there’s at least three more expansions planned for Battlefield 3, saying “we’re looking forward to many more hours of gameplay with you, and can’t wait to see the stories you will tell through Battlelog and player created videos.”
So, there you have it. They’re not rushing the game by any means, and DICE doesn’t seem to give a fuck that it was announced, because they want Battlefield 3 to stand on its own as a substantial game and not leave it wayside as soon as a new entry is announced. Unlike Call of Duty’s annual practices, I can respect this mentality. What about you?
