Rumor Mill: Assassin’s Creed 3 Getting a Season Pass

It appears that Ubisoft is plotting a sinister plan not unlike that of the Templars: they’re implementing a season pass for their upcoming North American murder-adventure game, Assassin’s Creed 3. The nefarious plot was apparently revealed via an email to GameStop employees, which both thanked them for their hard work on pushing the game, as well as detailed their DLC plans.

According to Ubisoft: “We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin’s Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver.”

Given the nature of Assassin’s Creed, one could hope that this would be single-player DLC, but it’s likely going to compliment the online mode of the game. Last year, Assassin’s Creed Revelations had a season pass for its content, though it was only available on PC.

There’s no doubt that Ubisoft is at least considering this; after all, it seems to be the hot new trend in video games, from Activision to EA to Rockstar and beyond. We just don’t know what the DLC would be, aside from a promised exclusive pack for PS3 owners. Anyone like the series enough to plop down some cash on DLC ahead of its release?
