PS3′s Skyrim Updated ‘Soon;’ No Word on Dawnguard for PS3/PC

If you’re a PS3 owner and the lack of Skyrim’s 1.7 patch has got you down, Bethesda is here to help. The company announced that the patch is coming to the PS3 “in the coming weeks,” bringing along horse-mounted combat, new kill cams, and more.

Hopefully you’re not awaiting Dawnguard, however, as it’s not coming to the system, or PC, in the foreseeable future. Bethesda’s VP of Marketing, Pete Hines, tweeted that Bethesda had  ”not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I’d tell you.”

That doesn’t mean it’s never coming to PS3 or PC; rather, it’s just a warning for fans expecting an announcement, as the period of Microsoft’s exclusivity ended today. “I was simply stating that expecting/demanding something today is unfounded. Not that news is never coming.”

Judging by the reviews, it doesn’t really look like you’re missing out on much, PS3 gamers; and, for those on PC, your access to mods are likely chock full of better scenarios and cooler stuff than some stingy old vampire dicks. But, if you’re really upset, just sell your copy and pick up the assured GOTY edition this fall with all its extra content!

I've heard someone used some tools to convert the 360 version of Dawnguard to work on PC.
