EA has unveiled a whole bunch of haughty-taughty financial statistics today, and while it’s mostly meant to satiate investors and other people who don’t care much about actual games, there’s a few tidbits of info that are of interest to us normal folk.
For one? Origin has surpassed 21 million users, almost double the amount reported back in May. I guess forcing people into your online distribution service by withholding games from other services and requiring it for every goddamned EA download pays off! I’ve estimated the total active users to be around 1,120, but don’t let me steal any thunder away from you, EA.
In other news, Battlefield 3′s Premium service has reported “over 1.3 million subscriptions to date,” also quite a large jump from the comparatively paltry 800,000 just from just a month ago. I can’t really comment if this is good or not, nor how it compares to Call of Duty Elite, since I don’t know anyone who has purchased these things. If you’re an addicted recluse, however, they both seem like great deals!

I HATE progression systems in fps games.
@Nezgroul I hate progression systems in just about any non-rpg multiplayer game. Assassin's Creed is a particularly egregious offender imo.
