PS All-Stars Public Beta Hits This Fall, Leaks Commented On

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale’s public beta will officially be available to all this fall, which is a welcome admission after weeks of waiting to find out what the heavily teased “exclusive action-packed beta” was. Sure, we all pretty much knew anyway, but confirmation is good for all us jealous people who didn’t get an invite yet.

Sony will be gradually sending out more codes over the following weeks, with PlayStation Plus members gaining access before all others in order to “test the servers and connectivity issues” the game will assuredly face upon launch. Keep your eye on your email for an invite in the coming weeks!

Now, if you’re awaiting the next character unveiling, you’ll find it on August 15th during Gamescom. What about the leaked characters, though? Superbot’s president Chan Park says that was all “unexpected and unintended,” though I’m sure he wasn’t disappointed, because it did a hell of a lot of free advertising and hype for the company after months of rabid fans awaiting any morsel of info.

Interestingly, Chan said it would be readily “apparent” that the leaked info is not indicative of the final product during the Gamescom announcements. Whatever he means by this, we don’t know, but I’m sure many of you are hoping that ‘new’ Dante was just a big joke.

Park’s official statement is as follows: “We’ve enjoyed reading all of the fan reaction and are thrilled that so many of you are excited to learn more our character roster and level mash-ups, however we are still in development and the leaked content does not fully represent the final product nor the incredible efforts that were made to make these elements truly spectacular.”
