Sons of Anarchy’s creator recently made some comments about how he’d want a full-fledged, expansive game based on his biker gang universe, and not just some shitty cash-in social game that devalued the franchise. Well, now it looks like he may not be getting the game he, or his fans, would love to see anytime soon.
Kurt Sutter recently tweeted some interesting, and potentially disappointing, news about the video game adaption: the game is apparently “getting NO TRACTION,” and it “looks like our big publisher blew us off.” He confirmed that FX could care less about the project, mostly because game development is “incredibly risky,” and that he doubts it’ll ever see the light of day.
Perhaps a little pissed off at this point, he went on to say, again, that he doesn’t want to “do a shitty browser game,” and saying this about AMC’s The Walking Dead social game: ”sorry @glenmazzara, show’s awesome, game sucks.”Oh, and he bashed Game of Throne’s social adventure, for good measure; he said he’d feel responsible for the quality of the game, and therefore would want a great final product, “not some 1/2 promotional piece of shit like GOT.”
How many people do you think would actually want to play a Sons of Anarchy game, anyway? I could imagine it being pretty good fun if it were in the vein of Grand Theft Auto with strategically controlled gangs members.
