New PlayStation Mobile Details, from Devs to Trophies

It seems that Sony has quietly announced even more reasons why PlayStation Mobile could be a huge success, after briefly revealing more about the shadowy service during their Gamescom conference. Apparently, it’s going to be a lot more robust than anyone had thought, and also has garnered a huge amount of interest from international developers and publishers. Maybe the company learned something from the Minis abomination?

Perhaps most importantly, it’s been confirmed that PS Mobile titles will have trophy support somehow. That means that, among other things, PlayStation-certified Android games will help you level up your pointless e-peen measurement. In addition to this, a huge list of publishers have signed up, and while there’s a general lack of huge publishers, plenty of fan-favorites lie below, from FromSoftware to NIS and beyond.

I, for one, am not so sure I’m into this. More games are great, but I’d hate to see the prominent amount of awesome PSN titles dwindle from indie devs because they can easily jump ship to a cheaper, and technically inferior, service. Not to mention the fact that the Vita needs all the support it can get from new games, rather than spreading them across multiple platforms. Still… better than Minis, I guess!
