Tokyo Jungle Hits North American PSN on September 25th

The absolutely nutty Tokyo Jungle was confirmed for a North American release not that long ago, but the wait has proven to be rather short: the game will be released on the PSN September 25th, skipping a retail release altogether. Better yet? It’s launching for just $15. And about the trailer: yes, those were totally pandas boxing and dogs about to bone.

If you forgot about the game completely, let me bring you up to speed: it’s fucking crazy. You’ll play as a myriad of animals all trying to reign supreme in an apocalyptic Tokyo, spanning missions between a story mode that unravels the mystery of humanity’s disappearance and trying to survive in the appealing-sounding survival mode, where you’ll bang other animals to make offspring and kill other animals who mess with you while you protect, and expand, your territory.

Sony’s description might be a bit more revealing, but either way, get ready to forfeit $15.

Tokyo Jungle puts you in the shoes (paws?) of over 50 playable animals ranging from Pomeranians to Lions. Playing your animal of choice, unleash your inner beast to hunt your way to the top of Tokyo’s post-apocalyptic food chain.

There are two game modes: in Story Mode, you’ll play as a range of different animals whose lives are intertwined as they struggle to survive in the Tokyo wilderness, while unraveling the mystery of mankind’s disappearance. In Survival Mode, you will hunt, occupy territories, and produce offspring to secure future generations and resist extinction. As you progress, you’ll also obtain survival points to unlock playable animals and purchase costumes to increase your abilities.

I am super excited about this game! That's great news to hear that it's coming out so soon, but a little disappointing that it's digital-only, because I think my service with my PS3 is a little messed up right now and I don't even know if I'll be able to get it. :( I need to play this though!
