Gamestop’s 3DS Exchange Offer Eases the Pain… A Little

If you’ve got a regular ol’ 3DS, but have been eyeballing the relatively superior 3DS XL ever since it launched a few days ago, Gamestop’s got some pretty decent news for you: you can trade in your old 3DS for $100 in-store credit, applicable for the portable’s bigger new brother. In addition to this, they’ll throw in a free copy of Pilotwings Resort or Steel Battalion, both competent enough games, and worth the price of free.

Of course, if you’re aching to get in on this 3D-madness, you can trade in your old piece of shit DS too, for a fraction of the price. Just hang onto those, folks, it’s probably not worth it. I, for one, am reluctant to trade in my 3DS, even though Gamestop will transfer your games and info over to the new system for you on the spot. I’ve got the discontinued Aqua Blue color, and I just know it’ll be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few years. …right?

Has anyone taken advantage of this? Anyone planning on doing it now? Tell us if the temptation is too great! You’ve got until mid-September to decide, though, and then you’re out of luck.

I don't really plan on trading my Zelda 3DS. And the XL not being a solid color bugs the OCD part of me.

I still don't have my own 3DS. I really dislike the look of the XL, and I don't like that the screen is the same resolution but stretched out. I'm personally waiting until the holiday season to see if there will be any good sales or bundle packs (especially in purple).

@shadowobsessed They just released the purple regular 3DS a month or two ago, so it could be a bit of a wait, unfortunately.
