Uncharted Movie Shaken Up Again, Ironically

It’s not unusual to see film projects die on the cutting floor, but video game ones seem to get special attention because of the insatiable fans attached to them. That said, film projects based on games are notorious for being shuffled around and even starting from scratch dozens of times. Mark another case for the Uncharted film project, who just lost its planned director, Neil Burger.

However, something deliciously ironic has happened in the process. Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, the people who wrote National Treasure’s script, have been enlisted to do a re-write of the film. Considering people like to make endless jokes about Uncharted riffing on National Treasure, among other properties, this is rather delicious news. And it’s probably for the better, if the film ever comes to fruition.

And hey remember this: at least Mark Wahlberg’s not involved!
