Kenji Kaido, the producer behind two of the most influential, essential, and [dozens of other complimentary adjectives] video games of all time in Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, has left Sony for the great unknown. There’s no word on if he was involved with The Last Guardian or not, but if he was, that game’s taken some serious blows to its league of head honchos.
Kaido tweeted that “This August, I left Sony Computer Entertainment,” and is pretty enthusiastic about his future: ”I’m also excited about whatever I’m going to be doing next.”
Of course, according to Joystiq, it’s kind of unknown what he’s actually done since Shadow of the Colossus was released in 2005, so the conditions of him leaving, the importance of it, and just about anything relevant is pretty much unknown. For now? Let’s just count this as a disappointing blow to one of the greatest developers in the history of the industry.
