Killzone Trilogy Joins PS Collections in October

Sony has revealed the newest entry to the PlayStation Collections line, topping off the inFamous, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank collections that launched mere weeks ago: The Killzone Trilogy.

Packing together the three main entries of the Killzone series, the new compilation includes a remastered, trophy-fied Killzone, along with “exclusive” maps” for the online iterations of 2 & 3. For the expected price of $39.99, the newest collection is yet another example of why it’s a great time to pick up a PS3 and join in on the fun if you’ve neglected the PlayStation universe. This particular edition will be available on October 24th in the U.S. and 23rd elsewhere.

Of course, it’s also a reminder of why Sony’s a bit of a prickled dick, too; after all, the original Killzone was set to launch on the PSN to much fanfare earlier this year, only to be pulled for reasons Sony claimed was technical difficulties. I guess those difficulties revolved around how to charge the most for the decade-old game, since not only do fans get to wait months longer than expected, they have to either re-purchase games they already own or wait for the inevitable split PSN release for individual titles at exorbitant prices. That’s the Sony way!
