Competitive gamers, pay attention: Twitch.tv has been granted a whopping $15 million to invest in its eSports broadcasting, along with improving its streaming quality and hiring some more necessary employees. According to the venture firm that invested in them, Venture Partners,
Twitch is “the kind of entrepreneurs we like to work with. They created this market. They created a whole phenomenon.”
I’m not sure how true that is, knowing approximately zero percent about the market, but there’s no denying how impressive Twitch.tv has become– it reportedly gets over 20,000,000 unique views per month, and has raised over $23 to date since its inception. It seems safe to assume that this giant bolster to their finances will only progress the rapidly expanding eSports market further. Get ready for another forty-billion League of Legends videos, everyone!
