PlayStation Mobile is now officially live, despite the lack of fanfare or advertising by Sony or most developers on board the platform. Currently, there’s twenty games of varying genres and one music-making app available for your pleasure. Curiously enough, you’ll find that at least one of the PSM games is a former Mini, indicating how open (and perhaps convoluted) this platform really is.
I’ve only been able to test this out on my Vita, and furthermore only noticed it through a small tab on the top of the PlayStation Store. One thing that’s surprising? The huge variation in pricing. It’s apparent that developers are able to set their own prices, as some titles are far below a $1, while many range much higher. In retrospect, that was my greatest fear outside of a lack of support for the platform, and I’m happy to see both concerns relatively alleviated at launch.
We’ll have some reviews of the stand-out PlayStation Mobile games up in the near future; for now, a complete list of all currently available software lies below. What’s caught your eye? Did you even know that this had launched? And, most importantly: where the fuck is Lemmings?
