If you purchase the black Deluxe edition of the Wii U when it releases this November, you already know that you’ll get Nintendo Land and some accessories, but you’ll also get access to what Nintendo is calling the Deluxe Digital Promotion (DDP). Owners of the Wii U Deluxe set will receive 10% back in points for digital purchases on Wii U.
For every 500 points you earn, you will receive a $5 eShop credit valid on your next purchase. For example, at $59.99, downloading New Super Mario Bros. U from the Wii U eShop will net you 599 points and a $5 credit with 99 points to spare. You will receive points on every digital purchase you make on or after November 18th, but it looks like you will have to wait until the DDP site launches in December 2012 in order to receive your free credit. The Deluxe Digital Promotion ends in December 2014 and you must exchange your points for eShop credit by March 2015.
