Portal 2 Gets Motion Controls Next Week

Everyone knows that Portal 2 was one of the best games of last year, and the PS3 version was especially innovative thanks to its use of Steamworks on a console. Sure, it really didn’t do anything, but its implementation was impressive. Thanks to Sony’s adventurous taste in mostly useless peripherals, however, you might yet get another jolt of fun out of Portal 2.

Sixense has been working for eons on getting Sony’s impressive Move controller working for Valve’s penultimate puzzler, and the results will be available for a mere $9.99 on the PSN next Tuesday. If you own the original retail release, you’ll be able to grab the dlc and play after the game gets patched; a new digital release includes all the needed guts to start you out for a wagglin’ good time.

While the entire game is now Move-compatible (single player and co-op), you can expect some awesome new test chambers to fully exercise the mettle of the Move controller combined with the awe of Portal 2. Just know that you’ll need a navigation controller to do any of this– or the will to hold a dualshock 3 as well as the Move.

Oh, and if you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you can look forward to a nice 33% discount on launch. What’s stopping you now?
