Future Publishing has announced its plans to end PlayStation: The Official Magazine, hot on the heels of their decision to do the same to Nintendo Power several months ago. The Holiday issue will be PSM’s final one on stands. The magazine began as a completely independent publication way back in 1997, and eventually became Sony’s official source for print news.
It’s nice to have instant access to up-to-date news on the internet on our computers and tablets and everything in-between, but there’s just something special about sitting down to a nice monthly issue of your favorite magazine. From PSM to EGM, it’s always disheartening to read news like this, even if your subscription to the magazine ended years ago.
Don’t forget to grab the final issue if you happen to see it next time you’re in the store, folks, whether to show your appreciation of the industry or just for old time’s sake.

Also I'm sure the employees appreciate the heads up right before they're shut down. At least NP had 5 or 6 month notice.
What the FUCK? I just got a free subscription to this after a few years without it. Now this, and NP gone? :,(
